About This Leadership Discussion
Wednesday 22 May 2024 | 09:00 - 11:00
Six months on from our last Director’s Forum the challenges for the Sector continue but is there some light at the end of the tunnel? Interest rates are dropping and a new financial year will be upon us. Understanding the likely economic picture in the short and medium term remains essential for coherent focus and planning. Are there stronger signs that borrowing is becoming easier?
How is the sector adapting to greater tenant empowerment, mandatory qualifications for staff and recruitment being both costly and competitive? What lessons have Registered Providers learned from the first examples of retrofit programmes and are they starting to better understand their stock and therefore their tenants?
Our next forum continues the discussion of exploring the challenging effects of all the competing elements current in the sector and aims to provide an innovative and collaborative exploration of possible solutions, looking both at the current position and developments which are likely in the near future.
Our Directors’ Forum will again be chaired by Louise Drew, Head of Building Communities at Shakespeare Martineau and she will be joined by Jamie Barber, from the Bank of England, who will update on the latest economic projections and modelling issued by the Bank.
