  • Immediate land – we are equipped to deal with all aspects relating to the acquisition and disposal of land , whether on a conditional or unconditional basis. We regularly deal with the acquisition and sale of serviced parcels within wider SUEs or indeed with the land assembly for an SUE. We work with you to structure deals in ways so as to reduce your exposure to market conditions
  • Strategic land – is generally treated as a specialist area within our client’s businesses and we reflect that within our legal team. The prevalence of the use of options and promotion agreements , involving complex equalisation, rights of pre-emption, overage and land pooling has increased dramatically in recent years, all of which need specialist consideration and advice which we can provide
  • Build to rent – is growing rapidly. The investment and ownership requirements combined with short to medium term rentals present a whole host of funding, tax, planning and construction issues which our teams are experts in dealing with. Sites are often in city-centres, adding additional complications with rights of light, tall buildings and contamination
  • Plot sales – is a real focus for us and we have one of the largest plot sales teams in the UK dealing with around 7000 open market and affordable housing plot sales per year, representing around 5% of national plot sales. Green homes will have a significant influence on the UK reaching its net zero 2050 targets, but unless homeowners are happy to live in them, there will be little commercial benefit for housebuilders to construct them.

We wanted to understand the opinions, knowledge and demands of those in the market to purchase a new home – having either recently purchased, or looking to purchase a property in the next 12 months.

We asked 500 first time buyers and ‘second steppers’ whether they were likely to purchase a green home, which green features they were willing to pay more for and their reasons for choosing – or not choosing – a green home.
