Employment team experiences positive new change

Phil Pepper has become head of the employment team taking the baton from Mike Hibbs who has served as the team lead for six-years. Offering a wealth of knowledge from his 17 years’ experience advising a range of businesses, Phil has a reputation for providing clients with excellent and pragmatic advice.

Elsewhere, our Nottingham office has added a new partner to its employment team. Rhys Wyborn’s focuses include handling disciplinary and grievance issues. Amongst many other things, he also advises clients on unfair dismissal and discrimination claims.

Further back in his career, Rhys worked at Shakespeares before its merger with SGH Martineau. He is now rejoining with a host of skills and a passion for training businesses on HR issues.

Last, but not least, Esther Maxwell has joined the team in Birmingham as a legal director. Specialising in advising those in the education sector, she is trusted by her clients to support them with complex employment issues. Education is a fundamental part of our society, and Esther hugely enjoys being able to assist the sector.

Phil Pepper, partner and head of employment, said:

“Having worked alongside Mike for a number of years, I know I have big shoes to fill, but I’m looking forward to shaping the future of our practice and building on his achievements.

“Both Rhys and Esther are highly-valuable additions to the employment team. They show an admirable level of ambition and dedication and give clients top quality support to ensure the best possible results are achieved.

“Diversity of experience is essential in our line of work, with the assistance required from us varying largely from client to client. The breadth of knowledge that Rhys and Esther bring to the table is sure to benefit the employment team greatly, helping us to continue our success long into the future.”
