Research shows that nearly 17% (22 million) of the UK’s population are aged 65 or over, with this number expected to rise by an additional 8.6 million in the next 50 years – this means by 2035, around a quarter of the population will be 65 years old or over. While across the world there are innovative later living models that have moved far away from traditional residential care and sheltered housing models, the UK is still currently lagging behind when it comes to developing and improving later living accommodation. We want to change that.
Our team of later living solicitors have many years’ experience in working with a broad range of providers, developers and charities on the development and on-going operation of retirement living schemes.
Together, we advise on the broad range of challenges and opportunities faced by providers of retirement living solutions and have supported many successful schemes targeting the over 55s. We also work closely with lobbying organisations to help shape housing policy.
