Based in Edinburgh, Trevor is triple-qualified as a solicitor in Scotland, England & Wales, and British Columbia (Canada). He is also a Law Society of Scotland Certified Specialist in Cyber Security , and has CIPP/E and CIPM certifications.
With over 16 years’ experience both in-house and in private practice, Trevor advises clients on data protection (GDPR) and other privacy laws), commercial contracts, IP licensing, and freedom of information.
As both a business adviser and a lawyer, Trevor has a keen practical understanding of small and medium-sized businesses: two terms as a non-executive director with Modo (Vancouver’s car-sharing cooperative), almost five years as head of legal at a rapidly-growing Scottish multinational, and almost five more building his own Scottish legal practice before joining Shakespeare Martineau.
