Life after Furlough

Webinar | Employment

About This Webinar

Thursday 16 September 2020, 9:30 - 10:15 BST

The extended Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (the furlough scheme) comes to an end on 30 September 2021. Throughout the pandemic, the scheme has been a lifeline for many businesses and as we get closer to its discontinuation, many employers have indicated that their businesses are yet to return to pre-pandemic levels of profitability. If trading conditions have not improved, this possibly spells redundancies and insolvencies. It is vital for businesses to prepare now for life after furlough.

Our legal experts Jon Heuvel and Nicola Holton will look at the following:

  • Restructuring staffing requirements

  • Alternative options to redundancy; changes to terms of employment, redeployment, sabbaticals and secondments

  • Redundancy

  • Practical steps you can take when insolvency is a possibility

  • Director's duties

  • Formal insolvency procedures

This is a live event and there will be an opportunity for questions and answers on the day; if you wish, you may also forward your questions in advance to events@shma.co.uk.
