We will be hosting our next HR forum on 5 May 2022, the forum will be a roundtable breakfast session which will be held virtually. The idea being, we want the participation from all the delegates to share experiences in your day-to-day business leadership and HR role.

Managing long-term sickness is often a tricky process for employers, and there are a number of pitfalls which need to be avoided. This round table discussion will focus on the need to address long-term sickness without delay, and in what circumstances capability dismissals are appropriate. Tied to this, we recognise that settlement agreements can be a useful tool for employers where disciplinary and capability processes turn sour, and employers wish to mitigate the impact of claims against them. We will also look at how to properly navigate the discussions relating to settlements being offered (i.e. protected and without prejudice conversations), the pitfalls to avoid and best-practice for getting settlement agreements over the line.
