About this conference

23rd September, 2025
9:30 am - 4:00 pm
Shakespeare Martineau, Waterfront House, Nottingham

Our training programme, delivered by expert lawyers—many with in-house counsel experience—is a practical and efficient way to stay updated on legal developments, maintain relevant expertise, and ensure you’re informed on key issues shaping your practice.

This conference will cover:

Contract Law
Our bi-annual review of recent English contract law cases highlights developments that impact the interpretation and enforcement of commercial agreements. Learn how to apply these insights when drafting, negotiating, and advising on contracts.

AI Governance and Regulations
AI is already reshaping how businesses operate, but the law and regulation around AI remains unclear. This session shall provide an overview of emerging regulations and governance challenges related to AI technologies and what in-house legal teams should be doing to navigate AI use in their businesses.

Employment Rights Bill
With major reforms on the horizon, we’ll explore how proposed changes could affect your workforce, HR policies, contracts, and dismissal procedures. In view of recent updates, we will also inform you of the latest developments to the Bill and likely timings for these key changes to be implemented.  We’ll also review recent case law shaping how these changes might be interpreted.

Adding value as an In-House Lawyer

We are also delighted to welcome Dan Kayne, CEO and Founder of O Shaped, who will talk about the O Shaped model and deliver an interactive session on how in-house legal teams can demonstrate their value across the business.

Stakeholder Management
The role of in-house counsel is evolving—from legal advisor to strategic business partner. Drawing on the O Shaped Lawyer model, this session focuses on building the business acumen and interpersonal skills needed to engage effectively with senior leaders, teams, and external stakeholders.

Attendance is free, but places are limited to 50 attendees —advance booking is essential.
