Wren Hall Nursing Home joins Church Farm Care to continue outstanding dementia care legacy

Wren Hall Nursing Home – a nationally and globally respected name in dementia and nursing care – has been acquired by Church Farm Care Ltd, marking a new chapter in its 36-year legacy, following our support.

Founded in 1989 by Dr and Mrs Kesari and led for more than three decades by their daughter, Anita Astle MBE, Wren Hall has grown from a small family-run home into an internationally recognised centre for outstanding dementia care.

Known for its relationship-led approach and commitment to empowering those it supports, the home, in Selston, Nottinghamshire, has earned an ‘Outstanding’ CQC rating and a host of accolades, including three-time “Care Home of the Year”.

Alongside the nursing home, Little Wrens Nursery and Preschool – an integral part of Wren Hall’s unique intergenerational care model – also forms part of the acquisition.

Anita Astle MBE, who will continue in her role as registered manager during the transition, said:
“Wren Hall began as a dream in my parents’ back garden, and over the past 35 years, it has grown into a vibrant, loving community rooted in dignity, independence and inclusion.

“Every award and achievement has only ever been possible because of the extraordinary dedication of team Wren Hall and the families who placed their trust in us.

“Handing over the reins has been one of the hardest decisions of my life. But it’s the right one. Wren Hall needs reinvestment and fresh energy to carry on delivering exceptional care for future generations.

“I’m absolutely confident that Patrick and Lucy Atkinson of Church Farm Care share our values and vision. They understand what makes Wren Hall special and I know they will nurture its legacy while taking it to the next level.

They not only guided us with professionalism and care but truly understood the emotional weight of this transition. Their support has made all the difference.”

Church Farm Care Ltd operates four care homes across Nottinghamshire and shares Wren Hall’s ethos of building close-knit, inclusive communities.
