About this roundtable / leadership discussion

18th November, 2026
5:00 pm - 7:30 pm
One Temple Quay, Bristol

In this exclusive in-person roundtable, guests will be invited to explore the key announcements included in the Chancellor John Healey’s first Budget and their implications for owner-managed businesses, individuals and families.

Designed to look beyond the headlines, David Smithen, Head of Shakespeare Martineau – Bristol will lead the conversation and invite guests to consider what any changes in policy (announced in the Budget on 28 October) could mean for markets, investment and wealth planning, and discuss how business owners and wealth holders can respond to the changes ahead.

With panoramic views across Bristol’s waterways, guests will be joined by our tax, corporate and property legal specialists for a meaningful discussion, peer-to-peer conversation and networking. Drinks and canapés will be served.

Guests will hear the views from subject matter experts, including tax partner, Julia Rosenbloom, who have digested and truly thought about the impact and how people should reaction in the short, medium and long term. There will be an opportunity to ask questions, and explore opportunities and concerns under Chatham House rules.
