Matt spent ten years on senior leadership teams in energy and technology businesses, looking after legal, risk and regulatory affairs. His experience includes non-executive advisory and board roles in scaleups, turnarounds and Ofgem-regulated utilities.
Matt’s approach is to use his experience in these commercially- and operationally-focused roles to help clients shape their ideas at the outset, pre-empting legal issues and cutting implementation time.
His broad commercial experience allows Matt to undertake commercial legal work for a variety of clients, recently including global technology companies, food and beverage manufacturers, utilities and airports. He has particular experience helping to develop and launch innovative products and services.
Matt also has a deep technical knowledge of energy, water and telecoms regulation, where he can assist with policy development and advocacy in addition to providing regulatory advice. He has written two books on the subject, contributes to a third, and has been on LexisNexis’ Consulting Editorial Board for Energy since 2017.
