Emily Shuttleworth is a Residential Development and Commercial Property Associate. Emily joined SHMA in August 2025 and brings with her a wealth of experience of working with many of the UK’s leading national housebuilders.

Emily’s practice has focused on advising residential developers on the acquisition of both immediate and strategic land interests. Her experience includes negotiating and advising on conditional and unconditional contracts, option agreements and affordable housing dispositions. Emily is experienced in advising on acquisition and disposal strategy, conducting complex due diligence and negotiating the infrastructure arrangements needed to bring developments to life. Emily also works on commercial lease arrangements for both landlords and tenants.

Emily has supported clients across the lifecycle of their development projects and on multi-phase, large scale residential and mixed-use schemes. She has successfully negotiated with landowners, developers, housing associations, statutory undertakers, and local authorities on behalf of her clients. Detail oriented and solution driven, Emily takes pride in her ability to navigate challenges and close deals efficiently.
