Kate advises clients on a wide range of issues, including regulatory compliance, Equality Act matters and data protection.
As a solicitor in our core Education team, Kate works exclusively with our further and higher education clients. She regularly advises clients in relation to consumer protection law, student-related matters, collaboration arrangements, TNE agreements, DSARs and freedom of information requests. She routinely reviews policies and procedures, including student contracts, EDI-related policies and Codes of Practice on freedom of speech.
Recently, she has supported clients in relation to the practical implications of the For Women Scotland ruling, compliance with institutions’ free speech duties and preparation for incoming condition of registration C6.
Kate also helps our clients navigate increasing volumes of DSAR and FOI requests, particularly those which are linked to ongoing complaints or generated by AI.
I am passionate about the education sector, helping clients with the variety of challenges they face and finding pragmatic solutions.
