Michael has extensive experience in dealing with high-value and complex cases – particularly property and finance issues.
Michael typically acts for claimants, usually against solicitors, accountants or architects. He is equally well versed in defending cases and feels that this experience allows him to bring additional insight into his claimant work. His recent work includes:
• £10m claim involving a well-known housebuilder
• tax law case with over 30 potential defendants involving a foreign jurisdiction
• extensive company losses relating to a well-known banking scandal
• case against solicitors where a claim had not been issued in time leading to strike out and a loss of the ability to pursue the original case
Michael has a background across the full spectrum of commercial litigation, allowing him to consider funding arrangements, where appropriate. He can also advise in detail on after-the-event insurance options, and is comfortable in both advocacy and mediation settings and ensures what the client is trying to achieve and their objectives remain in focus at all times.
Michael is recognised as a ranked lawyer in the Chambers UK 2026 guide.
