Neighbourhood Planning
There is an estimated 300 neighbourhood plans in place and up to 600 in
gestation – an indication that neighbourhood plans are gaining momentum.
In April 2017, the Neighbourhood Planning Act 2017 became law. The seven sections of the Act that relate to neighbourhood planning are significant and support the Government’s efforts to expand and strengthen the system of neighbourhood plans. It demonstrates that neighbourhood plans are set to grow in importance in the years to come.
