Two refusals, a public enquiry and an approval

Two refusals, a public enquiry and an approval

The development consisted of 480 dwellings, a new primary school, a neighbourhood centre, public open space provision and supporting infrastructure.

We were instructed to assemble and lead a new specialist consultant team to overcome an earlier refusal due to alleged impact on grade I listed heritage assets. Our work included advising generally as well as specifically auditing the Environmental Impact Assessment and the preparation of a detailed and bespoke planning agreement to support the proposals. The application secured an officer recommendation for approval from South Kesteven District Council.

However despite recommendation the application was refused and we were instructed to pursue an appeal by Public Inquiry which was heard from 28 November to 1 December 2017. A decision is expected in 2018.
