The University of Central Lancashire, via an acquisition of a company called Training 2000, created a wholly owned charitable subsidiary of the University, called The Strategic Alliance.
Training 2000 was one of the largest Group Training Associations in the UK, with expertise in delivering apprenticeships. The acquisition by the university created the largest provider of apprenticeships at all levels in the North West of England.
This represented a unique and innovative approach by a University to take advantage of the government’s apprenticeship reforms.
We acted on all aspects of the deal, from due diligence and advice on the appropriate corporate structure, through to advice on harmonisation of pensions, employment law issues and property matters.
