Strategic sale to recognise a bigger ambition

Everards Brewery has been a successful independent business for over 165 years. We have brought our combined experience to aid Everards Brewery with the sales of it’s former site at Castle Acres to Wexford Retail.

Our role on the project included:

  • Acted on sale of former Everards Brewery Site at Castle Acres (in conjunction with Next Plc) to Wexford Retail (a joint venture between Crown Estates and its Chinese government fund investment partner Gingko Tree)
  • Advised on joint venture/promotion agreement with Next Plc
  • Advised on pre-letting to Next of what will be their new flagship store at 90,000 ft² and further anchor Lettings to TX Maxx of 45,000 ft² and Debenhams of 90,000 ft²
  • Simultaneously acted on the relocation of Everards Brewery to new brewery site

We used our wide variety of expertise to add value and advise on:

  • Site set up
  • The procurement of necessary easements and stopping orders
  • The obtaining of planning consent
  • Pre-lets to occupiers
  • Development of new brewery site and associated infrastructure agreements

 

The outcome in summary was:

  • Planning consent was granted in February 2017 for the site to be developed as an extension to Fosse Park – it is the largest retail scheme currently planned in the East Midlands at over 350,000 sq ft
  • Exciting plans are being explored for the new brewery site as a local community hub
