With over 13 years’ experience in delivering expert design and heritage advice as a local authority conservation officer, Tom has an in-depth knowledge of architectural history, historic building maintenance, heritage legislation and grant funded schemes.

He has a proven track record of negotiating and influencing change to heritage assets in ways that respond to their special character and significance.
At Nottingham City Council, he was instrumental to the successful delivery of the Nottingham Train Station Project, the Nottingham Castle Project, and the Carrington Street Townscape Heritage Scheme. He also supported the production and delivery of Locus Consulting’s award-winning work on the Nottingham Heritage Strategy.

Tom brings a pragmatic, relatable and creative approach to development in a heritage context and is accustomed to working collaboratively with commercial partners to achieve optimal viable uses and public benefits. A full member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC) since 2012.
