Corporate Restructuring & Insolvency
Laura is a solicitor in the Corporate Restructuring and Insolvency team in the Birmingham office.
Laura completed her training contract at Shoosmiths before joining Shakespeare Martineau in 2020.
Laura has experience in all aspects of company administrations and has seen through several administrations from appointment to termination, including advising on the validity of appointment and extending the term of administration via both creditor approval and court.
Laura works with a variety of clients including insolvency practitioners, trustees in bankruptcy, company directors and creditors on both contentious and non-contentious matters.
Laura’s expertise includes advising lenders in connection with security reviews and in the enforcement of their security, advising insolvency practitioners in relation to antecedent transactions, assisting on company voluntary arrangements and advising on the sale and purchase of businesses and assets in an insolvency context.
Laura also has experience of insolvency in house, after completing a six month secondment at Lloyds Bank.
