100 DAYS AFTER LOCKDOWN

MARKING 100 days since the UK officially went into lockdown (23 March 2020), Shakespeare Martineau is hosting a week of virtual events to support businesses and the public enter the ‘new abnormal’.

Starting Monday 29 June the firm’s family and private client teams will be answering some of the most frequently asked questions since lockdown started; including 'When do “no-fault” divorces come into force and how will these be different from the current system?' and 'Why do I need to make a will and what can I do to avoid a will dispute after I die?' in an FAQs webinar looking at wills, protecting your personal wealth and family matters.

Tuesday 30 June will officially be 100 days since lockdown began and CEO Sarah Walker-Smith will once again be in conversation with Professor Baback Yazdani, Dean of Nottingham Business School, reflecting on the latest government announcements and ONS data. Joining them in the SHMA Talks episode will be Professor Abhinay Muthoo, Dean of Warwick in London and professor in economics, casting his view on what the latest stats mean for businesses and the economy.

Listen again to Sarah and Baback in discussion at 50 days since lockdown on our SHMA® ON DEMAND PAGE.

On Wednesday 1 July, senior litigators will be hosting a webinar on making COVID-19 related claims on your business interruption insurance, while Friday 3 July will see experts from the firm answering your property leases questions in a live Q&A.

The second SHMA Talks episode of the week will be broadcast on Thursday 2 July, where Sara Burks, from Adaptis will be in conversation with CMPO Ben Buckton and head of culture & talent, Helen Hay, about maintaining a positive work culture after lockdown.

During the 100th day (Tuesday 30 June) the firm will also be extending its free helpline hours from 9am through to 5pm – open to businesses and individuals looking for free information and guidance from senior legal professionals.
