It’s that time again and the global real estate world has descended on sun-soaked Cannes for three days of events, talks and networking.

We’ve got a group of four delegates from the firm at this year’s event: Simon Stanion, Alex Smith, Brendan Walsh and Simon Robinson, who’ll be filling us in each day on hot topics, interesting events and general observations from the world’s largest property event.

Stay tuned for rolling updates during the course of the week!

T-24 hours – Pre-MIPIM ponderings from Simon Robinson

Arriving on Monday, Simon was the early bird of the group, giving him plenty of time to scope out the event and get the lie of the line – he even managed to squeeze in a run along the Croisette!

Read his dispatch below:

“After a bumpy flight, I arrived in Cannes late this afternoon and joined 16 other brave souls from the Property Sports Network for a run along the Croisette. It feels like the town is in a calm before the MIPIM storm – although the wind seemed to suggest a storm was not far away!

“Met new faces as we plodded along the seafront from Arcadis, FTSquared and Mitsubishi. Discussions were mainly running-based, but there was some insight into the slowdown across the UK property market – affecting professional services organisations and their supply chains.

“This evening was spent with Multilaw Real Estate colleagues from across Europe, including Germany, Poland and Monaco. There was a lot of interest in the UK – I’ll give Brexit one thing… it means everyone is talking about us! To be fair the B-word wasn’t mentioned for over 1hr 30 minutes as we went through many subjects. Really interesting to hear that senior living is a hot topic across Europe, alongside student living.”

With the event opening its doors today, we’ll have plenty more insight from our delegates as the week goes on!
