The challenges facing the education sector have never been greater, and in response many institutions are reviewing their direction, competitiveness and sustainability.

We have been advising education clients for well over a century and now have in excess of 100 clients within the education sector across England & Wales, including some of the biggest names in the sector.

Aside from our university and college client base, we also act for a number of sector bodies and regularly participate and speak at sector conferences and events. This experience means that our advice is pragmatic and practical, risk enabled rather than risk averse. We work hard to build relationships that matter, through our commitment to adding value in everything we do.

Our core education team made up of Smita Jamdar, Geraldine Swanton and Joanna Forbes only work for universities, colleges and other sector bodies. They are completely immersed in the education sector and are always at the forefront of sector issues. They provide strategic advice to university and colleges, regularly advising on constitutional and regulatory matters; corporate governance; freedom of information and data protection; student relations and disputes; and international ventures.

They are supported by, and work closely with, lawyers from across the firm, including from the employment, commercial, real estate and disputes teams - many of whom advise education sector clients on a daily basis.

We are also delighted to introduce a new range of consultancy services for the education sector, led by
, Director of Strategic and Policy Services. Jonathan joins us from the University of Cambridge, where he was the Registrary for nine years, having formerly served in the equivalent role at the universities of Birmingham and Warwick.

"The education team is excellent - approachable, knowledgeable and fun."
